Know what the first thing I think about is when I
pop onto friendster? Nah, not befuddlement at the
number of 20-somethings in open marriages, nor
the number freaks allegedly from the Philippines,
but just how much I miss Abby. I'll never forget our
wacked out IM sessions (we created our own
language, killer!) or her warmth. I'm sad she's not
around, but so happy to know that she's livin it up
and holding down BK.
Abby is one of those stellar people
that you want everyone in the world to
meet because it will make you look
cool to know such a cool person.
She's my ticket to the elusive
popularity I've pined after since the
seventh grade.
Really though, Abby is the best. She
makes me wildly happy just to think of
her, except that I then feel
desperately sad because I'm here in
San Francisco and she's in New York.
Damn, I'm so emotional these days--
California is turning me into a wussy.
abby KICKS ASS!! she kicks ass in many
ways, but a few are: she's always down
for corner bistro, she always shares
her latest music obsession, she's from
maine and is damn proud of it!
I must say, Abby is proving herself to
be quite the cool roommate, thanks not
only to her scintillating personality,
but also to her contribution of a
beautiful red teapot that looks so at
home on the stove.
Firstly, abbs, i must know whose hand
that is. Ok. now...
while i see abby less and less as the
years fly by, she has been integral to
my life experience. One day, abby and
sarah and i sat at my kitchen table in
my dingy queens apartment and polished
off an entire jug of (gulp) carlo
rossi 'burgundy' while planning our
double-cassette 'best of joni mitchell'
mix. i will not forget.
:-)
