RiR's goal is to produce/promote/distribute pinoy-canadian, pinoy, local and international talents. Over the years, we have worked hard to gain global popularity.

We are an indie label. We've paid our dues as a rookie in the music industry and are proud (and feel unworthy!) to have been called trailblazers for our pinoy-canadian talent.

Since we came to be, in 1998, our bands have played several gigs a year. However, in August 2004, we held our first BUZZ concert at The Opera House here in Toronto (a concert to showcase RiR talents). Followed the following year, by the Kitchie Nadal, Live in Toronto! show.

Radio Insect Records (RiR) is inviting all bands with at least one Asian member to join in a music festival called 'BuzzFest'. BuzzFest 2006 will be hosted and administered by RiR at Toronto's legendary facility The Opera House on Friday, August 25, 2006. BuzzFest 2006 will span for a half-day showcasing the best of Asian independent talents from across North America. RiR will also be inviting music industry dignitaries who will witness the entire event and its performers.

RiR believes that even with the known talents of Asians across the globe there's not enough of them successfully crossing-over the North American music market (NAMM), currently the world's largest. All other cultures (eg. East Indian, Caribbean, African, Latin American, European) have shown successful NAMM penetration to which Asian 'Orientals' pale in comparison. This event will achieve one purpose, that is to showcase the caliber of current Asian musicians as we know it proving that there's an enormous talent-pool to be had if only we organize ourselves and perform collectively in one large event.
