TALAHIB: noun; a wild soft grass which leaves scratches to one's skin when hardly exposed to its leaves. it grows in any landforms, from the mountains up to city areas. the most common grass in the Philippines.

the band; folk flavored world music bridging Filipino experiences. influenced by indigenous rhythms and western harmonies. its lyrics espouses the plight of different Philippine tribes, environmental concerns and social commentaries.

HISTORY
formed in the event of the Payatas Tragedy Solidarity Night. The band started as a four piece acoustic group (kleng, bonjo, noel and JR) in 2000 which covers the songs of the jerks, asin, grupong pendong, lokalbrown, joey ayala, buklod, tambisan sa sining, and kalantog.

In 2002, at penquin cafe, talahib was reinforced by agaw agimat and performed an amplified set in the launching of ARTIST for SOCIAL ACTION RESPONSE event. In realization, the group led into a full band act in the same year of October. The group added lito on lead guitar, ambo on rhythm guitar, alep on bass and jarwin on drums on their roster.

In 2004, JR, ambo, lito and alep left talahib to pursue their personal careers. As talahib's avid follower, burn (pup) and mrk (university of makati) was included in the bands line up to play the lead guitar and the bass guitar. but, before the year 2004 ends, jarwin left the band which led the group to go back to acoustic set-up.

In the first quarter of 2007, talahib recruited musicians for peace pup chapter members to play the percussions. domeng, and darrell enters talahib in its experimental line up. talahib goes full band act again, bonjo on acoustic guitar and main vocals, noel on vocals and kubing, burn on lead guitar &bamboo flute, mrk on bass, domeng, max & jones on percussions, darrell on drums, and j kleng &j anis for vocals.

AT PRESENT. talahib is currently enjoying its new music and rawness ,compositions and still riding the peoples music wagon!
