stops at Burger King and a particularly
frightening haunted inn in upstate New York
(by the way, we didn't really drive across the
country, just to upstate New York). In which
we slept with several of our friends. There
were stains on the pillows and the sheets
had Superman and Smurfs on them. In any
case, in those few days Zach revealed to me
his supreme kindness, his dazzling
intelligence, and his phenomenal sense of
humor. From that day on, we were
inseparable. I mean, I haven't seen him
since, but I miss him. A lot, baby.

Someday he will kick the universe on
its ass, and as it rubs its sore
collarbone, he'll grin maniacally and

bastard universe? Got a sense of
