      • nick loves: old maps, ketel one, looking at real estate, knowing big words, playing the newspaper name game, saying hawai'i with a pronounced apostrophe, whole foods, and anything about the weather.
Nick hates: bad children, bad spellers, bad drivers, bad haircuts, and the yankees.

      • Nick probably has the most biting sense of humor of anyone I know, and a damn funny one at that witty, sharp, and quite often of a caliber that makes the gutter look squeaky clean. Never a dull moment and honey dijon dressing will never be the same. As a conversationalist, hes the best of all worlds: Great for existential topics, great for good ol gossiping about boys.

placed between the words, "The" and
        "Experience." I recommend: The Vegas
        Experience, Hipster Hiking, Let's-Develop-Our-
        Own-Moral-Code, Urban Exploration, and
        Adventures-in-Grammar.

Not so much: The Mealtime Experience, Just-
        One-More, Let's-Talk-About-How-the-Other-
        Person-Is-Annoying, Playing-Chicken-with-
        Lawrence-Fishburne, and double nay to
        Flirtations-with-Scientology.

        Bonus!: he's a sharpie AND a softie.

      • Over the last few months, Nick and I
have: gotten tipsy and discussed sexual
        dissatisfaction at Union Station; almost
come to blows over room service in a
Greek god infested hallway at Ceasars
        Palace in Vegas; mercilessly ribbed
each other for our failings (yes, I speak
in a falsetto on the phone to service
personnel, but have you had a meal with
him? Someone could lose an arm trying
to get between him and his potato chip
        fried spinach); attended a Dallas
        debutantes Bat Mitzvah bash; and
generally had immense amounts of fun
while bossing each other around and
driving each other crazy. Add all this to
the fact that hes adorable, pop culturally
literate, and one of the most kinetic and
fun people on either coast and I ask:
How could it not be girl-andgay-beau
        love?

      • Nick and I started as carpool buddies
on the Delta shuttle, where we spent
        many hours perusing Sky Mall
magazine and plotting the formation of
the Wagyu Beef Club. Now he is a big-
time, disaffected, hipster lawyer in LA,
and I but a humble student, yet he still
deigns to associate with me. He can
also be credited for introducing me to
the wonders of pumpkin pancakes and
that banana-stand show on HBO. One
day I hope to see a movie with Nick that
        does not involve cross-dressing or
        paramedics.

waterbed, Nick cruelly pointed out the
impossibility of my ever seeing Julia
Roberts in a Stephen Sondheim movie.

      • If Nick ever gets sick of his day job
and writes his own version of Zagat,
the world will be a better place. Or
at least the world will eat better and
        be more entertained.
