kickin it to boy bands

duh.

this IS a true story. the highly esteemed 90's boy band,
hanson, played a show in austin on 9/16/03. while i
wasn't fortunate enough to see the show i did get to see
the mobs of pretty and grounded young ladies swarming
around their tour bus. my friend julie and i knew what we
had to do. we pranced right up to the epicenter and julie
got on my shoulders. (apparently this tradition no longer
exists btw.) we hooted. we hollered. we got a few
glimpses of hanson. julie estimates we were in over 100
pictures. but yet we felt unsatisfied. i put julie down
and once i regained feeling in my arms i called lynelle
for advice on what to do. (as an aside, julie and i came
from soccer practice so we both donned lovely sports wear
that tickled the olfactory system.) lynelle suggested we
get a signature on my cleat and as she was uttering the
words
i saw none other than taylor hanson walking toward our
section of the clamoring masses. i picked up on his name
from the soprano chorus that surrounded me and i joined in
gleefully. since i was about a foot taller than the rest
he came right over and accepted my request to sign my
cleat. now listen, i don't know much about love... but if
you would have seen the way he looked into my eyes... and
gazed upon my cleat. it WAS love.

i want to be friendsters with anyone smart enough to
