I had developed a habit of talking an endless stream of nonsense, usually dirty jokes, until seconds before the curtain came up. One night, I was so brilliant in my babbling that I wasn't really concentrating during the scene. I was about to have a serious brain fart - you know, one of those unannounced one note solos. With a tiny clearing of her throat and a squeeze of my hand, Afton kept me from making a fool of myself. And I will always be grateful to her for that. I miss you, Afton, I hope the world is treating you well.
