Ever since our college days, Doug and I have experienced many ups and downs. Not only has Doug always been one of the greatest people with whom to celebrate the "ups," he has always been present to nurture his friends during the "downs." While most folks fall into those personality ruts as they age, Doug has never lost his vitality and zest for life. He will always be my favorite workout partner, my pop culture wonder twin, my "let's try a new sport" inspiration, and my dear (surrogate) little brother.

Thank you for being such a great friend. Even though we just met last summer (you were stalking me, right?), you have become one of my closest and most trusted friends. You have really made it easy to get up at 6 (OK, 7) and work out, and I honestly miss you when our schedules conflict-- so you should just quit your job and be my personal trainer. You are one of the most giving people that I have ever met. Doug would give you the shirt off his back-- literally, he would. Ask him. He'll do it. Anything to show off those arms, pecs and abs! :-) Simma'!
