      • When I met Amanda in England, I thought "who is this woman with an American cap like rap singers ?" I was "very French" myself at the time and she has been a real shock to me; and then I got to know her, we got on very well and now I miss her a lot, on the other side of the Atlantic. I hope that she will send me a message and that we will catch up; I still have the music tapes she made for me and I listen to them with a tender nostalgia.
        Love Véronique

      • Amanda is the coolest sister I've ever
had. She has really good taste in
music and a good sense of humor too.
She is also an upstanding member of the
        underpants gang.

      • I first met Amanda in 7th grade when we
attended White Oak Jr. High together.
She was... unique. And that's why we
made great roommates in our early-20's
        post-college years. We enjoyed such
        activities as creating projectiles out
of ourselves by racing down the wooden
hallway of our Washington, DC apartment
in an rolling office chair with oven
mitts on. Additionally we'd walk over
to the National Cathedral across the
        street and just gawk.

Amanda & I, being roomies for almost 2
years did not fight. Instead we would
play Atari and kick each other's asses
at any games that required used of a
paddle. At one point we took an 18 hr
road trip to see Phish at "The Great
Went". During said journey we did not
fight. This was too odd and therefore
        we staged a 'mock-fight' whilst
        traversing the greenspace of our
        destination: an abandoned airforce base
        in the middle Limestone, Maine.

I have been with Amanda in crowds,
family seders, first lonely nights in
        apartments, friends weddings, a
        multitude of subways & trains,
        synagogues and churches and cathedrals,
        border patrol stations questioned by
        paramilitary officers with vicious dogs,
        and long evenings making gingerbread
        villages.

There's no need for a summary.

      • I met Amanda in England, and she lit up my
life immediately, no questions asked. She is
very, very intelligent and curious, and when
I'm with her we laugh nonstop. She is one of
the funniest, most fun people I know and I am
privileged to be friends with her. Her motto in
life: Have fun. And she lives it. Glory be to
        Mandypants!

Amanda when she won first prize at
        the Tokyo International Karaoke
        Tournament for her rendition of
        "Immigrant Song" by Led Zeppelin.
        We ate avocado and were
        serenaded by the world-reknowned
Fuji Silent Chorus at a Shinto
        Temple, and Amanda was rewarded
        a lifetime's supply of Chef Huhu's
        "Special Sushi." Soon enough we
had to make our way back to the
States, and the organizers of the
        Karaoke Tournament were gracious
enough to loan us our own plane.
There was a karaoke machine for
every seat, and i cannot begin to
explain the euphoria we felt while
playing "I Wanna Be Sedated" 100
times at once. I'll never forget it.

      • Amanda was an A-#1 friend growing up,
but especially during those dark years
we like to call "junior high school."
Her fantastic, quirky sense of humor
got us through, and shaped my sense of
what was funny in the world. For me,
one of the sadest days of the year was
always when Amanda would leave for
summer camp, and one of the happiest
would be when she came back. She is
that kind of childhood friend who you
could lose touch with over the years,
but who always reminds you of where you
came from and how you got to be who you
        are today.

        mid-60s, Amanda and I were a cub illustrator-writer
team and were assigned the unenviable task of
modernizing the character. She made the difficult
choice of killing off Bucky and I supported her artsitic
instinct. Despite decades of protests, prank calls, and
bags of flaming poop in her mailbox, I still believe she
        made the right decision.

      • Amanda Rocks. She is a true friend
and, were it possible to make a living
on the amateur karaoke circuit, this
girl could do it. Thankfully for kids,
tufted titmice and the rest of us park
users, she is forced to keep her day
        job.
