About Me:
i've been known to say much by saying very little. then
again, i've also been known to not shut up when feverishly
jazzed about something wonderful. i like untrained
musicians, trained botanists, long train rides, and riding
a conceit to its flayed and flogged fruition. fruits i like
are clementines, pomelos (an original citrus), lychees, and
guayabas. i consider myself straight, but fruity. i also

immemorial and he's always been full of
heart and soul and imagination. i
remember a long time ago he wanted to
invent a new language. he was my first
kiss, which was a tender way to start
out in the world. plus, he's a mean
musician, as everybody knows.
to bring my consciousness back from a
bizarro alternate universe where I was
destined to spend eternity as the only
sentient being. Hooray for Rafi!
(Bummer for the bizarro alternate
universe that I suppose is now totally
devoid of sentient life.) He also used
to know how to play all the Pixies'
songs. Maybe he still does.

this Rafi. No matter what you are
saying, Rafi finds something amusing
on some level, even if that level is
far out you will never fully
understand. But if your patient he'll
tell you what he's thinking. Just
don't be a faker. A musical poet of
note, Rafi spills out jems that stick
like industrial strength Velcro: his
synecdoche, metonymy, and metaphorical
hooks don't stop. Did you see that
picture of his head? His language
lobes are FULLY developed. Spanish,
Hebrew, Chinese, French... he's done
that. Someone must stop this polyglot
before he learns another language and
embarrasses us mono and bilinguals
even more. Rafi is okay in my book.
much talent is not being given due
credit. the radio waves are filled with
meaninglessness... and here, in Rafi
we have a musical maestro, not being
appreciated because corporate radio
fears the beauty of real music.
Rafi? Since meeting him at the Sol
Fest 2001 at Griffith Park thru Cesar,
I have heard nothing but good things
about him both from Cesar and Ed, his
roommate. These 2 guys are both in
total awe of Rafi. Rafi, you don't
know how much I hear from them- "Rafi
did this and Rafi did that, I'm so glad
that Rafi likes me.." So, please don't
make anymore friends because pretty
soon, the whole world will be bragging
about you.. luv Denise.
Rafi. As his self-description
suggests, Rafi articulates himself
fully with his deliberate gestures and
carefully chosen words; he cuts out
the bullshit - what results is a
genuine and living work of art. His
most eloquent moments are
wordless. If you are lucky and he
deems you worthy, he'll show you
where the fruit-bearing trees are and
pick a ripe white mulberry for you. Or
maybe he'll lead you down some
wierd alley that you've never walked
through before. He might even go
hunt down the eclipsed moon for you
after you've wandered around town
and proclaimed that you can't spot it.
Whatever the gift, you'll be quietly
delighted...
