About Me:
Around people I don't know well, I'm quiet, shy, and stoic. However, when I'm around friends, I'm comfortable and come out of my shell. I crack jokes regularly and laugh frequently.
I sit cross-legged on the floor when someone needs my chair more than I do.
I stand tall and rigid when I'm in unfamiliar territory. I tend to stand over people when I do this, which makes me come off as a little scary.
When I'm interested in something, my eyes tend to open very wide. Not sure why, just one of those little quirks.
I grew up with high expectations, and it shows in almost everything I do. This led to quite a bit of stress in my youth. With all of the pressure to do well in school, I became introverted and studious. I became proficient in just about everything that didn't really involve people. When I moved to Mankato for college, I realized that I hardly knew anyone there. I made few friends, but the ones I did make are truly great people. When I moved back to the Twin Cities, I found all my friends growing up had spread to the wind. With my rather heavy work schedule, I don't get much time to get out and meet people. Instead, I spend my time involved in various activities that I can pick up and put down easily: reading, programming, playing chess, running, shooting hoops, and just about anything else that I can do without a set day or time.
In college I used to volunteer as a college-level math tutor and a chess teacher at couple of Mankato elementary schools.
I believe I may have become one of the first computer faith healers in the west metro. People call me about computer problems, I show up, and the problems go away. No action necessary.
One of the most patient people you'll ever meet when the time's not right to do something. One of the least when something that must be done.
I tend to feel lonely around large groups of people. Doubly so among large groups of people where everybody knows everybody else.

Who I Want to Meet:
Plusses: Sense of humor, intelligence, an apparent lack of basic understanding of what should be considered normal human behavior.
Minuses: Cruelty towards mimes even though they deserve it. Boredom without the will to find something interesting to do. People who work hard to tear others down instead of helping them learn from their mistakes.
I can't say I know who I want to meet without meeting them. More than anything, I seek someone who will understand me a little better than the random people I see every day.
