About Me:
I have been living in New York City all my life (except for the first year where I was in my birthplace of Jerusalem). Somewhere in college, I discovered improvisational theater and have now been doing it ever since. I teach regularly at national festivals and international venues, from Seattle, WA to Toronto, Ontario to Oslo, Norway. I also perform regularly with the wonderful Karen Wight in Imp., where we improvise vignettes using as few words as possible. Now I am living in Austin (yes, the one in Texas. Why do people keep asking that?) where I am having an awesome time working with the Austin Improv Collective.
I wrote a book titled Directing Improv: Show the Way by Getting Out of the Way which is available through my website YESand.com. Want it. Buy it.

Also, I'm a control freak with a martyr complex.

Testimonials and Comments for Asaf
All the cool kids are doing it.
or for worse made me the man I am
today. He introduced me to most of my
current friends and on a round about
way, my Wife. He is an inspiration on
following ones dreams in a graceful yet
forceful way. I am always interested in
his opinion and advice. Try to hang
around with Asaf. He is a man who makes
things happen. If you are in the room
when it does, all the better for you !
Even though he's bigger than me. And I
have a little brother. He hugs good.
instead of a bass drum, he has
hugginess and friendliness and improv.
All the other instruments are the same,
though. You are seriously a big jerk
if you do not put a quarter in his hat.
two gets me excited about things I
never knew existed. He's an artist
and an innovator; his improv is pitch-
perfect, and his friendship is
enriching. My brain works better when
I talk to Asaf... connections start
connecting, ideas happen. Keep this
guy around.
Asaaaaaaaaaffffff.
Who's better? Huh? Who?
Asaf is a Prince, but without all
that "I'm better than you, where are my
bodyguards?", bullshit.
Asaf is funny and good. Some might say
he's good and funny, but those people
are insane.
improv, and has since proven to be a
greta teacher and a greater friend.
He's the coolest guy I know and he can
kill a man thirty two ways with his
bare hands.
could be Asaf, that would be totally
cool. I'd would be all like, "I'm
Asaf" and I'd so psyched about it.
have ever met. Or at least the only one
to identify himself. When I asked him
why he was telling me, he said because
Sephardic Jews were the best Jews ever.
I didn't believe him at first..after
all, he is well-known for his funny
make-em-ups, but then he shared some
Sephardic Jew candy with me and I was
convinced. Other Jews may do other
things better(like banking or
controlling the media) but Asaf's tribe
makes the best candy ever!
things. He works hard at it. And he
does it very well. We could use
more "uniters" like Asaf.
