Formerly of Philadelphia; more formerly of San Francisco, I was working for a human rights organization and I used to work for a progressive design & ad firm. I just snagged a job with a magazine, joining the ranks of the liberal media in an effort (a) to change the world and (b) to irritate my mom. Generally I'm fascinated by politics, social change, and how media can make change happen.

I'm also a writer. Lately I've been writing about sex, muffins, Barack Obama, baseball, abortion and/or some mix of the above.

As a human being in the world I'm interested in road trips, dinner parties, wandering Prospect Park in my flip flops, learning to play the banjo, and the occasional drug or drink. I'm a joyful cynic and a conscientious hedonist: funny and fun, decadent and dirty. I also like random urban planning trivia and chocolate. Can we make out or be friend(sters) yet?
