have know you for almost 18 years.
When we met we were bitter rivals (over
what I still don't know) and I
distinctly remember chasing you around
a classroom flipping desks with
homocide on my mind... In retrospect I
am glad I never caught you...
Anywhoooo, I annoyed you when I missed
my plane in eighth grade and I was
there for the Summer of Hell!!! Be it
the Skatalites show in New Orleans when
we met Ahab, my flying up to New York
for your 1st drink on your 21st (HOT
TRUCK!!!), the Rocket From The Crypt
Marathon as we drove cross country
togeather, to you giving the speach of
the century at our wedding that had the
bartender in tears... Soooo many good
memories... It has been and always
will be a pleasure my friend... I
Gotta... I Gotta do it again...
(or so it seems) and I can say without
a doubt that he is the one of the best
if not THE BEST FRIEND A MAN CAN
HAVE... PERIOD!!!
Quakers? Bill Buckner (though I didn't
know you then, thank God)? Water
baloon fights which end up with my face
in a tree? Gay VPs? Endless
concerts? So many memories. It's
always good to know there's someone out
there you can just call and talk about
nothing for an hour with.
For the past 18 of those, he has lived
17 different places. Despite that, I
have probably never gone more than
several months without talking to him.
That's the kind of friend John is.
John makes the effort to stay in touch
with all of his friends, which is one
of the things that makes HIM such a
good friend. How many people have
friends from 2nd grade that they lost
touch with a decade and a half ago?
John has a lot less of those friends
than most people. Plus, he's the kind
of friend you WANT to stay in touch
with. This forum doesn't allow me
enough time to go through everything,
but, everyone would be fortunate to be
able to look back on as many late
nights, concerts, road trips, ball
games, and out-and-out shenanigans
with John as I have.
were in middle school back in tokyo. gone
through a lot of shit good and bad with this
man. ron brown, ken oka's bag, the uzi
incident, park parties from hell, late night
mcd's at touhachi, ap fu#$ing us history,
psycho-funky and so much more. i am lucky
to have found such an awesome and forever
loyal friend. its been years since i've seen
you, bro, but i know that doesn't matter. i'm
looking forward to seeing you and yours
someday soon. thanks for being a part of
the circus i call my life. it wouldn't be half of
what it is whithout your influence.
