About Me:
Southern Cali gal now calling Northern Cali home. I'm am so not your typical Pinay. I happen to be jocky, goofy, smart, goal oriented and focused. I'm the kind you don't find that often as a prize at the bottom of a cereal box; kind of like a Golden Ticket in a Willie Wonka bar. I have a nutty, somewhat sardonic and somewhat brainy sense of humor that makes some people scratch their head. But yes, I tell crass jokes too. There are certain things I don't mess around with. I take my athletics, activism and politics real seriously mostly because they are my passions in life. I don't settle for anything less making me rather picky about most things although I am very open minded about a lot of things. I am very stubborn and hard headed, earning me the Tagalog monkier "Tigas Ulo" (translated to hard head). I can be sweet as pie but if you cross my path, the result will be rather ugly. I do however make damn good pie...ask any of my friends. Even though I'm the type of gal to give you a 10 year plan on what I want to do in my life, I still find a moment to just be free and let it all go and just see where my life takes me.
So in short, I can make you laugh until your sides burst, challenge your brain until you have a migrane, make you ride up or run up a steep hill or long flat course until you cry "uncle!" from pain or boredom, fatten you up with my latest pastry creation, encourage you to reach for the sun, moon, stars and then some; talk smack to you if you cross my path, take any book or magazine you have and just read it, tell you and take you to lovely dive spots especially in San Francisco, make you eat GU and balut (optional), and just be the best person that I can ever be and hopefully leave a lovely footprint in your heart and hopefully in turn you can give me a sizeable campaign contribution when I run for public office one day.

Who I Want to Meet:
Hmmm...here's my long list- Frida Khalo, Senator Barak Obama from Illinois, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, former President Bill Clinton, Michael J. Fox, Magic Johnson, former Texas governor Ann Richards, Janet Evans, Joan Benoit Samuelson (first American woman to win the Women's Marathon in the 1984 Olympics, the first time this event premiered), Karen Carpenter Phinney (U.S. Olympic Cyclist), Lance Armstrong, Eddy Merckx (5 time Tour de France winner), Jose Llana, Corazon Aquino, and Paolo Monteblan. Now realistically- folks to cycle and run with, folks who are passionate at what they do, someone I can museum hop with (especially those that like modern art), someone to help me brush up on my fledgling Tagalog skills and feed my sudoku addiction (I will literally take the page with the puzzles in the newspaper to solve the sudoku puzzle and you won't get it back! Puhahahaha!). If you are willing to listen to NPR and be a guinea pig for my latest pie, I would love to meet you too!

the call. Sure she's got the fancy leg
strength to pedal from San Francisco
to Los Angeles...saving the world one
mile at a time I might add. But I have
the lung capacity to smoke a pack of
marlboro lights in a single day.
teensy girl on a tricycle is a portal
to her future...
AIDS Ride 8, the first thing that
struck me was her bright smile. It was
so wide, it went ear to ear! She was
so funny, so warm, and so down to
earth. I was so excited to meet
another Pinay sistah who was cycling
for AIDS. She is one courageous and
daring mofo to do FOUR AIDS rides in a
row! Wow! She sure has passion and
heart. I wish you Edna all the best in
your law pursuits and romantic
prospects.
individual and I am certain others
would agree Edna is this person. It
feels good to know we came from the
same place and turned out to be the
complete opposite. I use to question
how I became me when I came from San
Bernardino County. Well, that's not
here or there. Good people come from
good places, but really good people
come from icky places. Yes, I'm a man
and I used the word icky. Betta
recognize!
sophomore year (1989) in high
school and til this day she is one of
the very few people who still
continues to keep in touch with me
despite the hundreds of miles
between us. And though I am awful
at returning her calls, she still
doesn't give up on me. I must be a
really good listener. ;) She is the
most energetic, hopeful and cheerful
person I know even when she's
struggling through life's many
dilemas. She is one strong little lady!
I admire her support for Aids Life
Cycle and her reason for being a part
of that. She's got heart.
