About Me:
Surprisingly passionate about a certain number of things, surprisingly dispassionate about other things. I am the best educated college dropout that you know. Ironically, after going to a tantra workshop for leadership training, my type a personality is reasserting itself. Giving tantra a second look. I play trivia - and I love it. We won Harry Potter trivia, and so we have a 5 foot HP standup in our living room. I drink wine, margaritas, champagne, and beer. A whole lot of beer at times. I am a carbon copy of my mom - and that's fine, as many problems as we've had. I have so many chips on my shoulder that I'm constantly proving myself to myself, but knowing that tells me more about who I am. I'm glad I wasn't born in a more idealistic time so that my dreams wouldn't have been so glorified and then so crushed. I'm a realist. The best way to describe me is comfortable in my own skin. I know who I am- and am comfortable with most, if not all of it. I love telling stories, jokes, and I LOVE the rush that teaching gives me. Helping other people understand something that I know or that I experienced is at the heart of who I am and who I want to be.
I am full of little ironies.

Who I Want to Meet:
You. More specifically, people in the DC or Baltimore area who are intelligent, like playing trivia games and regaling in being proud of our random banks of knowledge without being cocky or uppity about it. If you can talk unironically about grammar and its impact on society, then you want to come and meet me. If you are uptight, constantly talk about your credentials, or are looking for a drunken hookup (with me) go elsewhere. If you enjoy drinking, dancing, and having fun, AND all of the above, you probably want to come and meet me.

I-95 & lived to get her to come to
California, in a trek that seemed
further from I-95 than Glasgow,
Scotland. In all of these locations &
several others, Kate has been an
invaluably supportive friend. Though it
seems that 2 things are destined: she
will be in contact with the number 2307,
and she will be dealing with someone
else's illness whenever she visits a
foreign country.
genuinely kind fighters. You'd be
hard-pressed to find a more caring,
selfless person who is as passionate as
Kate is.

fierce in fighting for what she
believes. Kate is also a fierce
drinker. What does that mean for
you? Don't mess with kate, otherwise
her friends'll get fierce with you.

ever. She doens't mind my blaringly
loud music (secretly, I think she even
likes some of it!), we get to share
major complaints about every person who
calls the office, and we gossip about
individual substance abuse episodes. I
will however, berate her for missing
one of my parties. Aside from that
minor detail, she's A-OK in my highly
elite classification system.

other since freshman year of high
school...eight years. Damn, I feel
old. I remember when she vowed she'd
never get married and wanted fish
instead of children...now she's the one
with the ring pratically on her finger
and I'm the one whose beginning to
consider fish. Ah well, times
change...people change, but friends
stay friends no matter what the world
throws at them. I love you Katie :)
