in high school. I helped him get his
electric motor spinning the right way
in Mr Bruhns Electronics class back in
1982. I had a ricebowl haircut and Ed
wore the same green jacket and burgundy
vest every day. We had to be friends
because we were so goofy that nobody
else would talk to us. Ive seen Ed go
through just about every kind of trend
you can think of since then. Lets see
there was Burgundy and Green Nerdy
Freshman Ed. There was everywhere I go
Im bringing my damn drafting project
house Ed. There was Pompadour Cerritos
College Jam the Box Popping Ed. There
was Hardy shoes Genuine Pleather no-
your-feet-will-grow-into-them Ed. There
was here-have-a-free-balloon-but-no-
free-food Burger King Ed. There was
Shaolin Kung-Fu shoes block-this-punch
Ed. There was Mod Ive got all new
friends Ed. There was Christian Ed.
Lets see, then there was a married Ed
and subsequently a not married Ed.
After that I think I missed a few Eds,
but I think the last few have been the
pierced and tattoed Ed, and I guess hes
somewhat come full circle being the
80's Rock Da Mullet Ed. Lets see, I
think I should mention that Ed had a
few cute girlfriends over all the high
school years. Rose (you know where West
Covina is, no not there) was certainly
memorable, and so too Rochelle and
Roseanne. Come to think of it Ed had a
string of girlfriends whose names
started with R. Its kind of ironic that
when I think of the 80's Ed was one of
the people that was a big part of that
experience. Anyhow long live the 80's,
Dr. Demento, and the Blue Block Gang.
