About Me:
I'm originally from Davis, but I lived in Egypt for three years, where I met my husband, Hashim. We got married a couple of years ago, and he's originally from the Nuba Mountains region of Central Sudan. He arrived here in May 2005 after waiting a year and half in Cairo for the visa. We live in Davis now but we're moving to New York City in September! I'm going to be a student at Teachers College at Columbia, and Hashim will hopefully be attending the City College of NY. I'm studying international educational development with an emphasis on Africa. Hashim and I have been giving a lot of talks lately about the human rights situation in Sudan and Darfur in particular. Let's see, what else about me...I love cats, and animals in general. I love studying in cafes, especially Mishka's in Davis. I love playing pickup ultimate frisbee, which I'm hoping to keep doing in NY. Snow and humidity be damned! I love mountains, and fresh air, and backpacking. I love traveling, and seeing new places, and then coming home again and being with my family. Life is good.

cheerful, and fun-loving. Annie is my
standard for self discipline, a characteristic
that she is swimming in. Also, a passionate
educator and human rights activist. I love you,
Annie!
Caroline throwing the frisbee at Willard Park
on several occasions prior to our meeting.
You could say we kind of looked forward to
noticing you two playing...it was a site to
behold. Two beautiful women bounding
about, your throws wild and ecstatic, as if
each toss was BLISS. It was contagious. And
watching you draft people into our little group
was a lesson in community building for us all.
I miss those days, which I'm now dubbing the
summer of frisbee. Where on God's great
planet are you? I miss you. Peace.
