Who I Want to Meet:
Other Cities, and my residents, and native sons and daughters. add me.
first: Santa Barbara; last: California. If you're a cheesy thirty-something guy from LA or San Diego, and you're looking to scam on twenty-year-old women, please head directly to Isla Vista and don't stop in town. If you're an Angeleno heading up to weekend, please don't try and "fit in" as my residents have no identifiable characteristics for you to imitate. And no more wealthy, vapid college kids from Orange County, please. I've got enough of you as it is.

Santa Barbara, I have always admired
the fact that you can be considered a
small town, but I really think the jump
across that line of town/city is long
overdue, I mean, you don't really fit into
those jeans anymore and a lot of your
habits are kinda childish. I really would
advise looking ahead to the future.
Look in the mirror baby, you've grown...
now start acting like the adult you are!
many irish carbombs on my bday
without hurling three times in an alley
next to Qs...
get way to drunk, and yah, I usually
punch someone in the mouth. It's not
my fault that everyones girlfriends
want me and that I was raised by rich
alcoholics. It's almost like SB hates
us, but at the same time loves us so
much. I will keep sending troops to
the meat grinder that is SB, I cannot
be defeated!
gorgeous, tanned, eternally young... you
seduced me at the age of 18 with your
beauty and lifestyle and spoiled me for six
years. i became accustomed to soaking up
sun at sand's in november, driving
anywhere in 20 minutes, flying out of SBA
without waiting in line, being surrounded by
the more fortunate quartile of the gene pool,
and waiting until 11 for a late dinner at roy's
or agave. i'll miss the jack concerts at the
bowl, the sunsets from butterfly beach, the
salty smell on campus at UC, the fireplaces
at agave and on the bacara patio on those
"cold" winter nights, the hot tub at big
yellow, the way DP was 4 years ago, 634 a
couple of years ago, tuesdays and
thursdays at Q's, and authentic mexican at la
super rica (even if the horchatas are tiny).
alas we all must grow up and leave never-
never land eventually; it was definitely a
bittersweet adieu.
it being too sunny and are anxious to
leave growing up. Then one day when you
actually do leave you realize that the
you miss it. You miss the random
eggings and cramming your face full of
tacos and churros during fiesta. You
miss the beach, the waves, the fine
ladies, hiking in the mountains, Rusty's
Pizza, and The Habit. You miss it all.
And of course the weather everywhere
else sucks in comparison. Like many
good things in life, you never realize
how important it is to you until you've
lost it. One day when I'm old and gray
I'll retire here. But until then I'll
just have to enjoy many many meaningless
affairs with other cities!
