      • I lost my Veg edge to your bacon double
        cheeseburger. 20 minutes later your
        bathroom was never the same

      • I can't seem to send this to David
        directly-- Damn you Friendster beta
        and your slow-as-shit server!! Anyway-
while my poor ass can't offer much
financial support to a 'Son of Deli
Haus' effort, I would like to offer my
moral support. In my times of need,
Deli Haus was always there to cheer me
up, quench my thirst, appease my
hunger, and deaden my eardrums. I
        miss your surly waitresses, your
        awesome hot sandwiches of all
        varieties, and especially your seven
day of the week sundays! Please come
        back! And Fuck those hoity-toity
Kenmore Sq. "we'll tear your beloved
businesses down and build some stupid
ass hotel for overpriced baseball fans
        etc. motherfuckers!" Find some place
that truly deserves you Haus! I
suggest Inman Square, or Davis or
Porter, or even Central if you have
to. I love you Citgo sign, but
        Kenmore is dying fast...

      • Yes It's True, My Granddaddy
aka "Poppy" opened you up in 1964...and
my parents ran you in the 70's and
80's...Does anyone out there know what
        I'm talkin' about? "Sloppy Joes"...I
spent a good part of my youth hanging
        out...selling gum and peppermint
        patties behind the cash rap...playing
        michael jackson from the juke
box...anyways we miss it and wish we
could bring it back old school
style...I'm not sure about the chicken
melts but glad to know it meant so much
        to so many....

      • the sadness of that night will haunt me
forever. i was walking to the 'haus, my
heart full at the prospect of a velvet
elvis and pbr served to me by some
indifferent punk rock goddess. my steps
grew lighter as i got closer to you, i
could almost feel the warm peanutbutter
        in my stomach. and then...
        you were gone...
along with a piece of my youth i will
        never be able to recapture.

      • My Girlfriend's grandfather opened the
Deli Haus in 1963. With all this
support we are thinking of reopening,
bigger and better. Same old punk rock,
eggs, melts, guinness floats, and rats.
I need all the support i can get while
trying to get funding. Any location
ideas? Is kenmore still a good location
        with that horrible hotel monstrosity.
Would central sq or Davis be better?
The family thanks everyone for the mad
        love and props.

if not for you. With a few obvious
        exceptions, things are just better
with a twist of German. I'd never ask
for powdered suger on my french toast
but, I miss it. You're in my heart
        always, honey.

      • Please, let me set the scene.
        November, 1995. Emersonians ready to
stagger to Amtrak in the morning to
return to the bosoms of their adoring
        (?) families. Pouring rain. Pneumonia
        weather. Approximately 12:45 am. A
knock at the door, interrupting my non-
packing for the 10:15 train. Deli-
Haus? In the gushing rain? Walking? In
the cold? Now? Of course. Let me just
get my shoes. This is how much I loved
        the Haus. True story.
