About Me:
Public Service Announcement:
Now that the right-wing scumbags have started tightening the screws on abortion, you may wish to get, copy, and spread the following information, while it's still available:
DIY Abortion Info
Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. And I'm truly sorry I voted for this Dubya idiot in 2000. I did not repeat my mistake in 2004, but by then it was too late. |
Your standard issue tall, thin, black-wearing, longhaired,
geeky guy. Usually accompanied by portable computing gear,
and I'm not even a computing geek (anymore). I live in San
Antonio, TX and love it, because it's not Michigan. I drove
a car that looks like a grim, sinister, rusty replica of
the Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine and now it is dead, which makes me sad.
I'm sick of large drunken mobs of people and/or people who never go anyplace without a retinue. I like to spend time one-on-one and in small groups. I also often need large amounts of solitude.
I'm in grad school right now studying why humans and animals age.

Who I Want to Meet:
People who love change, love science and technology, love
to question everything, love freedom, love spirited
debate, and just plain love. People who look forward to The
Future with curiousity rather than fear. People who believe
in a cause with every fiber of their being... or think they
might want to do that someday, but first would like to
observe someone who's already that way to see what it's
like. :-D

Badnarik, in my campaign for President.
am left mainly with impressions. Alex is
excited about ideas, and about applying
ideas in the world. He is bright, and open.
He was awfully sweet to me when I saw him
last. That's all I've got.
transhumanist I was ever aware existed.
I was talking to a mutual friend about
how I believed that it might actually
be possible to cure aging and live
forever with the right advances in
medical science. He told me that he
knew someone (Alex) who was actually
going to school to do research in this
direction. To this day, Alex is one of
the few people I know who has knowingly
chosen to work towards what is probably
the most important scientific
breakthrough that mankind can/will ever
make. I have to give him mad props for
that.
say...well..Alex is so cool that I
like to watch him when he thinks that
he is safe from my watchful
eyes...muahhahahaha...I jest.
seriously...Alex is so cool that I'd
like to stalk him..well..i am
kidding...errmm..am i? i think
so...kinda
as he got older. Now I'm glad the rest of us
have become a little crazier.
I've followed Alexs antics online for
many years and must say I admire anyone
who has still kept their enthusiasm to
thirty :)
seems that way until you start
listening to his ideas. If you can keep
up to his manic pace you will find that
his vision of how the world should be,
and what is possible, take on brilliant
clarity. Once drawn into the vortex you
see that it is not Alex but the rest of
the world that is insane.
description for Alex - I can't top that.
:-) However, I can say that Alex is
sweet, funny, charming, witty,
blow-you-away brilliant, innovative, and
adorable. I regret not ever teaching him
how to ride a motorcycle, but I sort of
left town suddenly back then and moved
to Seattle, d'oh. Definitely one of the
most interesting people I've met, surely
one of the most frightening in a metric
plethora of ways! And Alex - da hell are
you doing in TEXAS?!?! I mean...Texas?
Rilly? I always pictured you...well,
elsewhere. Like Japan or a secret
underwater hideaway. Maybe Seattle. But
Texas? Oh, wait...you're living in an
abandoned missle silo, aren't you. Ok,
that makes sense. ;-)
The only high energy mad scientist you
will ever need to know. Couch burning,
wire pulling, take you to the half pipe
your first day on a snowboard, I'll
sleep when I am dead kinda guy.
Cut the BLUE WIRE:
When the revolution comes he will be the
first one tearing down the wall. My
hope is that I will be there with him.
a comrade at arms who is good to have
at your back in a dark alley. Always
inventive and creative, I have no
doubt that he can solve any problem
put to him and make very happy the
rare woman who will put up with his
oddities.
