in my mid 20s, i am a stranger in my own shoes. constantly seeking the horizon, stalking discount airline websites and pinching pennies for that *trip*. hunting for yarn deals on ebay. having fun at sucking at tennis. easily bored and not easy to impress. drunk on the haterade most of the time, but love freely when circumstances and attitudes open up to accommodate it. dry humor and sarcasm and uncontrolled facial contortions of exasperation, bemusement, and delight characterize me, i may have insulted you and you would never have known it. i love great djs and great mojitos. will easily pick up five bottles of wine in a foreign country and suffer through handcarrying them back. i love nature but not enough to kick it in a tent. a pen is my first love, which i've forsaken for all this d.c. career stuff. i hope to go back to ink on paper someday soon, preferably in other countries, and with a wider and wiser perspective than i have now. within this decade, i aim to be multilingual, and beyond the phrases in the usual guidebook. my home horizon is always the pacific, out west, and when blazing sun meets gold-gilded water.
