      • Dear Fayetteville,

The four days we spent together was bittersweet... I had a great time showing my buddies around, though their favorite spot turned out to be The Rec. It was great getting to play music on the stage where I started, though the name of the place may have changed many times over the years. It was really special getting to play for a few old friends and my mother. And the 79th birthday party at George's... Well, what can I say? I've scarcely been to a better show ever... However, I have to say that four days is about as long as I care to spend with you anymore...

        See you next time...

      • Fayetteville, I've known you for so, so
long. You attract and repulse me at the
same time. You are my lifelong love-hate
relationship. I had to escape from you,
yet you always live within me. Aha, what
        a conundrum.

      • Oh Fayetteville. I love you and I hate
you. You are so easy to get sucked into.
Easy friends, easy jobs, easy walks
down Dickson. But you don't challenge
me, so I had to leave you. To many you
are an oasis, and escape from suckier
parts of the state. That I understand. But
growing up in your borders was mostly
        wholesome, yet constraining and
stagnating. But maybe someday you will
suck me back after I've ventured out into
the wild world wilderness and realized
you are so safe to return to. But maybe
        not. I don't like chickens or Wal-Mart.
George's is a gold standard music venue
and meeting spot so, you've got that
going for you. I'll change a bunch, but I
        like knowing you won't.

      • Fayetteville is down embedded in my
        feet somewhere...Starting from days I
would run along dickson street barefoot
at age 3 when my mother worked at
Flying Possom leather...to when I would
walk the downtown streets at age 14 so
long my calluses would turn to
blisters...To last year when I lived in the
knome houses 1 block away from
dickson and I run up barefoot to the
        farmers market on Saturday mornin.
Fayetteville, when Im away you are all I
talk about and when Im there sometimes
I resent you...And if thats not family I
        dont know what is...
