I obsess and fixate, but then float onto a new equally absorbing topic. I love the concept of random. When I am not working and/or playing on my computer, I like to walk, aimlessly or otherwise. Natural settings are a bonus, but urban settings are equally fascinating. I like academia. I like pointless arguments and debates. I like having sore muscles from physical activity. I love going to the library, but never remember to return my books before they are due and I am fined. I have an endless capacity to eat the same thing repeatedly for days and days at a time. I strive to be in balance. I look for inspiration in everything -- and ALMOST always find it. I like to cultivate the feeling of traveling in my everyday life -- to never let the world become wallpaper. I have moodswings that frighten me, but I seldom let them get the better of me -- the world is too big and exciting for anything to be tragic. I love coming up with new phrases, or the perfect analogy to fit a situation. Anything vaguely bad is currently a "minor tragedy". Words are delightful. Images are fantastic. Public transportation is among my favorite ways to pass time. I like to contort my body into odd positions and hold it until it hurts. I frequently worry that I am not being productive enough, but then I try to be content with the present moment. I am beginning to fall in love with the city of LA after 6 years of disgust followed by ambiguity. I am intensely competitive but the idea of being a "wannabe" in any way is anathema to me. I like to assess things in terms of cost/benefit analysis, but when all else fails paper-rock-scissors works equally well for decision making purposes. I am equal parts computer nerd and nature girl. I am a perception junkie. I travel expressly for that one moment when the familiar becomes strange, when you look down at a crumpled american $10 dollar bill, and it suddenly looks utterly foreign, even though you've been staring at it your entire life. www.calcium75.com
