About Me:
It's late in the day, and my cats are getting restless. I
choose to ignore them, however, and focus instead on having
my coffee, that elixir of life Ive been drinking these
past seven decades. -- Some bourbon would be preferable,
but the American government has been having a fit of self-
righteousness for several years now, and it has deemed
alcohol not just sinful, but illegal to imbibe. The
Prohibition, as les jeunes call it these days; ah well,
there will be enough spirits available at Alecs speakeasy
later. Then again, perhaps I shall not drink tonight. -- Is
it possible to have too much excitement in life? So many
bedchambers in which a fleeting hour of passion has passed,
so many teeth lost to disgruntled lovers seeking redress,
so many friends, lovers, family, cast off and forgotten.
What am I now, if not the wreckage of my years? The open
book beside my coffee cup offers a line to spite me: I
grow old, I grow old/ I shall wear the bottoms of my
trousers rolled. -- Alors, it matters not; plus a change,
plus a mme chose. The Hindu delegation in Paris once told
me of returning to life to correct past mistakes. Jespere
que cest possible, I have much to correct. Perhaps I
should come back as an Indian, or at least half, and not
quite so jaded and Occidental. Ah yes, the mysteries of the
East beckon! I shall count the cigarettes I smoke, so as
not to have this cough that plagues my chest. I shall learn
how to cook. I shall learn to put my feet in the shoes of
others, and thus keep the friends I make. As for lovers, I
have had a surfeit to last three lifetimes. -- Still, I
find myself unable to deny the affections of cats and
mothers.

Who I Want to Meet:
Hypocrite lecteur, mon semblable, mon frre! Actually, if you've read my narcissistic profile this far, you'll do. *grin* And oh, you have to spell and punctuate properly, and not use these newfangled spelling modes that warp words beyond recognition. Case in point: Friendster admin, it's *whom* I want to meet, not who. *wink*

I know Paul to be fiercely loyal and bewilderingly updated. In _all_ things. Even if I vanish off the face of the earth for a decade, all I'll need to do is search for Paul upon my return in order to be reconnected.
A great listener, he's sat with me through a number of nervous breakdowns. That hyena-laugh of his doesn't fool me. I know he's got a good, tender heart underneath that tough Toreador chest.
And, yes, it beats :)
