I know this because I know I know.
listed under my friends on friendster. i believe
that makes me the luckiest person i know,
'cause she makes amazing cake. i guess
probably charlie is luckier, since, after all, he
gets to live with her and eat her cake all the
time. but she is lucky too, because charlie's
pretty cool (even if he's not my friend).
i am totally stoked about getting to hang out
with myndi for a whole 'nother year. it's gonna
rock and roll, dually.
human being...her talent is as endless
as my envy of her.
other Mindy's...or Mindi's...that's
because she is different. Myndi is
one of those people who has the unique
ability to make you feel very
comfortable whilst talking to her -
and that makes her special.
Unfortunately, I was headed out of
college as soon as we met back in the
day, but in the handful of times we've
hung out, we were able to connect as
friends...that's a testiment to her
knack for relating to people.
She's about to marry my good friend
from college, and I believe everyone
should envy Myndi & Charlie...because
they are both incredibly compasionate,
honest, creative, and true people.
responsible for the perfect union that
is Mindy and Charlie, but really all I
succeeded in doing was throwing up in
both their company for them to
say, "Forget her, let's fall in
love." Ever since our lovely,
fabulous creative writing class, of
which I'm still sickly jealous of
Myndi's ability, and my getting her
the worst crap job in all of Columbia,
I have really come to cherish all and
any time spent with Myndi. Her mere
presence questions my bad days and she
has some strange way of making
everything seem okay, better and
great. I think I'll bottle that
ability and make lots of money. This
is why I consider Myndi a friend.

When Myndi is in Baltimore and I'm God
Knows Where, what I will miss the most is
the walking. Walking downtown, walking
between bars, and walking home. Our
walking, when I'd push out all my concerns
and questions and visions into the dead
night streets; where Myndi would tuck her
chin in her scarf, brush back her hair, and
listen. She'd tell me I wasn't the only one
tired or confused; that I'm not silly or
dillusioned; she'd lift the burden with me,
and we'd carry on walking. Sometimes our
walks were littered with whistles, comments,
and strange moment (depending on the time
of night), and sometimes our walks met
gently with the quiet of having a good friend
walking beside. You see, Myndi is someone
who is ever-present. She is the kind of
person who is simply always there -- as a
friend, an advocate, and a "LP" -- despite
semesters and summers and distances
apart. She reaches out to understand, and
never ceases to help carry my burdens, no
matter what they are. A heart bigger than
she knows, Myndi is my favorite roomate
and a definite "lifer..."
