Alan to be my friend was in
November when we sat on a couch
at a party and giggled for two hours
over the obscure sub-culture
magazines that we both loved.
Louisville has been a better place
because of his presence. And I will
girl fight NYC to keep him here. I like
Alan because he can live three or
four adventures in one night, and
even when I'm ready to go home he
can con me into having one more
drink with the phrase, "We're not
done here, are we?" It gets me every
time. And it leads to many great
conversations (oh and the
hangovers) and fabulous skits
re-enacting such things as the time
Alan drove a forklift in France or the
time we got caught in a bar during a
tornado and imagined ourselves
hurtled into the streets of Louisville
with margaritas in hand. I've laughed
so much more since I've known Alan
than my first year in Louisville without
him and for that I say
Thank-you-baby-jesus.
friends' hearts were broken. I for one
yearn for the days of discussing frills
and flim flam over a plate of hearty
mac n' cheese at Momma's, or
disecting the rudimentary style ethics
of "lady scientist" chick. Anyway, I
thought I'd use this friendster venue
to publicly declare my missing for
Alan. There, I've said it all.
things in life because he works really hard
and always does the right thing. He also has
the best posture of anyone I know, making
him look extra tall.
supportive, wildly funny presence in my
life for five years. He is one of my
favorite people, ever.
