Shelly. She brought it over to my
apartment on East 93rd street and we
lit up, leaning out my bedroom window
on the 15th floor.
As for the blow... well, it was Shelly
again. My memory of the night is hazy:
pyramid, east village, blonde hair - a la
Andy Warhol, leopard print furniture, a
town house apartment, a cd case - i
think.. or was it a mirror(?), discovering
that 24 hour delis actually do deliver, a
Salvador Dali painting - not a print, a
REAL Dali, and back to the club where
I have an image of Shelly sitting on the
bouncer's lap getting a hand massage.
I'm not so sure I find much comfort in the
fact that I've been able to show her a
thing or two along the way (or in these
memories for that matter), but the great
ol' chicken or the egg question does
come to mind here. The frying egg anti-
drug comercial also comes with this
free association.
But the bigger truth is she's worth the
hype.

internet. (True story! Everything in

gay bar. Less than one year later I was

here: almost every beck concert i've
gone to in the past four years has been
enjoyed in her company. And I get
pretty psychotic at Beck concerts. So
anybody who can stand my fanatically
spastic behavior in the presence of
Beck one time, let alon MULTIPLE
times, is a truly exceptional human
being. Not to mention that I get that way
around Presti, and she sat with me for
an entire semester of MCB 165. How
she manages to keep her cool in the
presence of such gods, I cannot
fathom. But not only does she put up
with me, she showers me with love and
affection. This girl, I like.
