What I enjoy doing:
Being The Ringmaster, music, people, long beach iced teas, nightlife, simpsons, travel, music (again)
-
Favorite Books:
I love urban poetry, period pieces, mystery novels and historic biographies...
-
Favorite Movies:
Wings of Desire, Donnie Darko, Dancer In The Dark, The Out-of-Towners, Up All Night camp classics, obscure Indie flix and old-skool cartoons... I probably spend more time watching Homestarrunner.com than anything
-
Favorite Music:
there's not enuf bandwidth to tell you ... lets just say with thousands of discs and LPs, I never get bored at home...
-
Favorite TV Shows:
The Simpsons, (i rarely watch TV - I am proud to say I have NEVER seen an episode of Survivor, American Idol or any reality television show...)
-
About Me:
My life can be sumed up in one word: MUSIC!
As a life-long fan of all styles of music, I have a major weakness for **ALL THINGS NEW WAVE!**
I have a special place for Portishead, Lene Lovich, The Dresden Dolls, Bauhaus, J.B. Lenoir, Ute Lemper, Sisters Of Mercy, Tori, Dead Can Dance, Marlene Dietrich, Maria Callas, Bjork, Kristin Hersh, Placebo, Tears for Fears, Aretha, Extra Fancy (yay Brian Grillo!), Squirrel Nut Zippers, Rufus Wainwright, Nick Cave, Big Maybelle, Marc Almond, most Astralwerks artists, 40s swing, anything on the Okeh or Chess label.
I host/DJ a monthly New Wave Dance Party in Philadelphia - called SEX DWARF! It happens the THIRD FRIDAY of every month at Fluid @ 4th and South sts ... COME GET CRAZY!
I have lived in Center City Philadelphia for some time. I am proud to say that I love living in this city and I continue to find cool places to explore. As for watering holes, I'll skip the gay'hood and head over to Tattooed Mom or Dirty Frank's or Fast Cheap & Out of Control anyday!
I write poetry, read often and talk (and listen) with a passion. I enjoy film, and use TV more for a vege-out tool than a source of entertainment. I also am a big fan for discovering new places to dine out in the city, complete with good conversation :)
I've been in the nightlife scene since 1978 and loved almost every moment (everyone has a few moments they wish they could erase!) From dancing at Danceteria and The Anvil in NYC, to spinning at Philly's Kennel Club and Love Club to catching some powerful live acts at The East Side Club and Revival.
-
Who I Want to Meet:
Someone who understands me. But, since that is next to impossible, I'll go for someone fun and carefree who enjoys discovering the underbelly of society.

through e-mail and the testimonials of
my friends Robbie and Duncan. My
impression of Robert is that he is
genuine, lives by his own rules
(instead of those made by The
Advocate, Abercrombie, or XY) and
values those same traits in others.
He would have no problem giving you a
reality check when you need one and is
unafraid to take chances. In sum,
Robert is good people who hangs around
with other good people. :)
have been prone to "witnessing" ala
Jehova's Witness-style. But I gotta
say, Robert Drake IS ROCK. Yes my
brothers and sisters, He Came in the
name of the Lord! *Amen!* I would
walk the streets handing out
literature praising him (and would
scoff at anyone who doesn't offer me
money for the pamphlets). He's helped
me out of a major bad patch and I'm
eternally grateful. Not only that, he
has obscenely good taste in music, is
a great conversationalist and funny as
hell. I'm gonna start writing those
pamphlets now.
Mother misses the light of your
omnipotent smile. Whatever you have
been up to these days definitely hasn't
brought you around Mother's lascivious
direction. But I think of you often,
and fondly. I'm wishing you the best of
luck and love this Winter Season.
filfthiest friendster in cyber space
going...not even the mud that we would
dual in could be filfthier than me...all
though you are most defenately the 2nd
in line...if i should die or get
abducted by aliens you then would truly
be the filfthiest friendster...and that
says a lot for ur character because it's
not easy to tie one as filfthy as
i...for that i will always respect ur
filfthieness...u r a true sinner and
thats not an easy thing to pull
off...we'll have 2 sin together sometime
and i'm sure it will include some
illegal substances, bootlegged alchahol,
a couple of bootlegged cd's, and some
underaged virgins...VIVA us, and VIVA
filfth...long live sin!!!
impresario, the Knack and how he
gots it, indeed. Thanks for lettin me
dj whatever, at Sex Dwarf, I tried,
loved it, lemme do it again!! He hasnt
allowed Philly to make him jaded,
holds on to a postive spirit thru all
this...
about writing Mr. Drake's testimonial.
Truly a Philly legend and a multi-
talented one, but, more importantly
a sweetheart with a very approachable
personality-all the qualities that get
me excited :)
wave music that matches my own...
INTENSE! We like to have a good time
and make sure others are having a good
time, too! Mr. Robert Drake is good
people. And I'm proud to be his friend!
odd obsession with Snow Globes, he's a
pretty good guy. Just like Sara Lee,
he's the kind of guy that nobody
doesn't like. He celebrates his
birthday 4 times a year (does that make
you 160 this year?), but the one his
mother celebrates is the same as mine.
That makes him extra special.
you that everybody doesn't already
know? You came into my life like a
rocket and, if you didn't, (even though
it pains my pride to say this) I would
not be in a good place right now. From
all those coutless HOURS of phone time,
to every AWESOME concert that we've
seen together.....Concrete Blonde and
my larengitis afterwards and the For
Sale Balloon, Placebo..."I'm going up
front 'cause he HAS to see me!" Thank
you for my little Blue heart ;-)
And how can I possibly forget Thrill
Kill...oh so awesome! Your b-day party
and my plastic bag, Charles Plaza,
Needles Jones, Helen Back, Fast Cheap
and Out of Control, Tritone, Frank's,
Mom's, ALL of the tons of specials that
I've drank, you allowing me to balance
myself on you when I've thrown back a
few, dancing to all of our songs,
helping each other through our "Ex"
factors.....Cheers to you keeping me
sane at work, and sane in life. Cheers
to phone calls at 3AM, me drinking
Pabst on your front step.."Robert
Drake....Robert Drake...." LOL
i'm glad I gave you the idea for the
new tatoo...its very true. I'll always
be your little Sex Dwarf forever!!
