fascination for things that manage to be
somehow worldly and philosophical while
also very, very human. and i dont think
its a coincidence that its crept up on
me recently, right alongside my
friendship with meg. after eons of
searching for a kindred spirit, i find
myself with this girl who keeps me
honest and holds me accountable, but
who never fails to gently remind me that
we are completely and utterly human.
these days, it seems inevitable that
blueprints will occasionally fail, that
carefully mapped plans will fall through.
and im so content knowing that when
they do and i come crawling home, tail
between my legs, megs there: arms
open, understanding grin, as if she knew
all along that this might happen. which
more than likely, she did. because for
every minute i talk about not putting
myself on the line, shes spent ten living
exactly the opposite way. and if you give
her a minute of your time, she just might
convince you to do the same.
many stages in the past ten years. it all started
with the, "i bet she's such a bitch, i hate her"
stage which quickly evolved into the, "she's the
coolest person i've ever met, i totally have a
crush, i hope she likes me" stage. this stage was
full of late night rendevous, secret notes, and
catching each other up on the past 14 years of
our lives. going through college together. the next
stage was the "we have to live in separate
cities?" stage, which included many ridiculous
phone bills which led to the "starting to discover
who we are, where our passions take us, and are
we really adults now? stage. There will be more
stages, more angst, more love and hate, more joy
and disappointment, and more friendship and trust
in
our lives.
If you are lucky enough to go through life with
someone as wonderful, daring, unique, quirky,
dorky, cool, and brilliant as meaghan charkowick
-- you are pretty damn lucky. this g
devoted resident. Meaghan : sweet,
caring, fun, intelligent, very sociable,
has that "can- do attitude, gets things
done, non-judgmental, honest, funny,
great artist, fellow "west winger,
open-minded, will make a great
politician (you've got my vote), going
to be a fabulous mom, wish that we will
always know each other, endless desire
to do the right thing. I am saddened
that I've just gotten to know her and
I'm leaving but I'm relieved that she's
a devoted New Orleanean and that I know
we'll cross paths again.
as all hell my dear. love Griffen 1, 2, 3.
things in my life. She always told me
i'd get through it , or get over the
girl, or actually write my own lyrics.
Meg actually wrote the words to one of
my first songs.meg is one of my best
friends and from this day forward im
going to keep in better touch with her.
well, meg. i'm one of the lucky one's
that have the privelage to know her and
therefore describe her with such
pinpoint accuracy. if your someone
that doesn't know her than i'm sure
that you have that one missing link in
you life that only she can fill.
whether i call her to listen to her 3
hour long stories so i can fall asleep
or call her so she can say good things
about me even though i can't understand
the big words that she uses(i just know
they're nice) i know that i'm lucky to
have a friend like her. as long as she
always lives 1,000 miles away. (you owe
me for this one)
this little blood relation thing we
have going on. Its not that bad though,
shes fun to hang out with, although not
quite as fun as peggy flamingo, and she
helps me with school work.
intelligent people I have ever met.
We've been friends for a very long time
(I stink with dates) and she is single
handly responsible for making me the
person I am today and for that...Thank
you.
sweet and purtty and lights up every
room she walks into. 2) She has more
time than I to spend on a mutual friend
who is very high maintenance and
requires an abundance of undue
attention. 3) She takes care of Brandon
and keeps him in line so I don't have
to do so. **I didn't say the three
reasons couldn't be linked, okay?!** I
mean, just look at that smile, and she
has a personality just as bright. That
is why EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND. I mean,
Meaghan. As far as Meg dabbling on the
Isle of Lesbos, this is all news to me,
but WHATEV. Somebody's gotta LICK IT. I
guess.
