About Me:
so i arrived in this shining city on 43 hills almost three years ago now (holy shit), having followed its siren call all the way from DC, where I'd spent the previous 8 years working in law and politics, fighting the good fight, as they say.
originally, grew up a good, straight, white, southern baptist republican. my, my, how the times do change. am still white, i guess. and good. very good. Or naughty. depends on which tabloid you read.
eclectic and quirky and quite pleased that way. seemingly hyper-social and always 'on'. the reality, however, is that after years of brightly burning off excess energy, I seem to have quietly found here in SF that magical, sublime place where things seem to have finally fallen into place. An amazing blessing, that. and one that i do not take for granted.
The obligatory 'here are a few of my favorite things' list: that older gent who plays his saxophone every morning in the Montgomery Muni station; those twisted, sparkling points of light at Trannyshack who embody the beautifully messy mosaic of San Francisco; the unmistakable rush of serotonin triggered by BT and his girl Tori Amos crooning 'Blue Skies' into my ear buds as I smile and retreat to that place where the world is as it should be; bellybuttons.
love to travel. Very much of the school that the world and its infinite cultures are the *best* education possible. From sleeping on the sand in Mali; to running from a cranky, charging elephant in Botswana; to shopping hipster holes-in-the-wall in Paris, to the souks of Marrakesh, and the street markets of Seoul. Sometime we'll talk about the ill-fated trek to Timbuktu or that brawl I started in that bank in Munich.
Spontaneous. No, really. Was in a cab in DC in '95 with some friends when they suggested I join them for the summer in Mozambique. After thirty seconds of deliberation, I said "sure". Lizards with neon-blue tails and beauty that almost defies description. Best summer of my life.

It must try his patience something fierce when I ask him to slow the cadence of his speech down for me. You know how it is - they grow 'em big and dumb in the south - and I'm a little dumber than I am big.
Anyways, it's amazing how handsome Todd's gotten over the last many years - or maybe the camera's just being kind, but I don't think so.
Indian Guides, Cub Scouts, Elementary School thru High School... I've known him off and on throughout.
I didn't know what I was missing during the years that he fell away into the abyss of where-are-they-now-and-what-are-they-doing.
I'm just glad to know him again.
Cheers, Todd, you animal you.
