almost famous, garden state, adaptation, the squid and the whale, american beauty, royal tenenbaums, when harry met sally, beautiful girls, lost in translation, old school, shawshank redemption, and i'll say anything with hugh grant in it becomes automatically enjoyable to watch on some level... i like to watch him blink.

This is the woman who started it
all; the woman who sent me a
mysterious Friendster Invite. I
accepted - and now, over a year
later, comes her Friendster
Testimonial. What does one say
about Alison? Shes style incarnate.
Whether rocking the real labels or
giving us all a lesson in Alterna-
Vintage Chic, this girl can dress.
We should all take a lesson from
her and try to look half as fabulous
(we should be so lucky). But more
than her lovely wrapping, Alison
has the goods on the inside, too.
Though its been over a year since
weve really spent some quality
time together, I can still picture her
laughing (probably at someone
elses semi-tragic misfortune). You
all havent lived until youve laughed
with Alison.
Perhaps the best thing about
Alison, though, is her amazing
ability to chronicle life while still
participating in it. In our high school
art class (with Mrs. Duffy, who we
all love because shes kind of
ridiculous and doesnt care), Alison
would spend the majority of the
time logging new entries into her
current book of quotes, always
looking for that perfect quote that
sums up life or at least life as we
thought it was based on our freaky
EGHS-microcosm I-Cant-Believe-
Its-Not-Real-Life experience up to
that point. In fact, I believe it was
Alison who first dug up that quote
from The Wonder Years which I
wont mention now, because you
should all know it. Anyway, if there
is any good in the world, I hope that
Alison is still observing the world
around her and trying to pick out the
good pieces (and the very rare
great pieces) and recording them in
a little notebook somewhere.
PS. That wasnt a rough draft for a
eulogy. Alison is still aliveI think.
minutes, but already she reminds me of
Tigger from Winnie The Pooh. Like
Tigger, her infectious presence is an
addiction unmatched by any other vice.
Like Tigger, her warmth can melt an
iceberg, or a heart. Like Tigger, her
creativity makes the pages of your
favorite novel cringe in jealousy.
Like Tigger, she can walk into a Lower
East Hot Spot, and walk out unnoticed
by the blind peeps. And like Tigger,
she's destined to rule our world, and
the other two.
