About Me:
Yes, I did finish my thesis. It took 5 years from start to finish, and to those I admonished for asking me constantly if I finished, ask away. "The Day My Mama Socked it to the Harper Valley PTA: Country Music Womanhood in the Second Wave of Feminism" is now on file at Department HQ. It's done and accepted and the diploma's in the mail. No, I will not be seeking a PhD. I am however seeking a new
albatross. I did get a dog. His name is Charlie Ashmont and he's a American Pit Bull Terrier - don't believe the hype. I got him at the MSPCA. We're having fun. I still live in the house of the marble lady, which the neighbors also refer to as "the doll house." I AM indeed having a plaque made.

Testimonials and Comments for Joyce
rare yet cherished moment of
unasuming beauty and laughter, that if
happens to you, my dear reader, you
will speak of that moment for the rest of
your life
people in the world. She is a great
big sweetheart - with perfect
amounts of sarcasm, empathy, and
a huge capacity for listening and
learning... if anyone messes with
this woman they are in for a
thousand years worth of bad karma.
Bow to the master. XO
"if Joyce can't do it, it can't be done."
Joyce is one the sharpest, funnest
people around. She has a savvy,
strong -lady-boss side that makes
her many moments of sweetness
and remarkable generosity even
more moving. Joyce is a loyal (which
is why she still lives in Dot) and
great friend. Trust me - I met her in
the crib. She is an phenomenal
steak-enjoyer and I don't know if I
have actually cried from laughing
more with anyone than with Joyce...
