The Alchemist, The Twentieth Wife, Satanic Verses, A Confederacy of Dunces, Bloom County...it'll never stop being funny, House of God, Interpreter of Maladies. I have also recently discovered Naguib Mahfouz (Cairo trilogy) and I am currently re-reading the Chronicles of Narnia.

I recently saw Rang de Basanti....three times. One of the best movies I have ever seen. Everyone should see it. Crash, Napolean Dynamite, The Forty Year Old Virgin, The Godfather Part 2, Part 1, As Good as It Gets, The English Patient, Eternal Sunshine on the Spotless Mind, Garden State, Wedding Crashers, American Pie, Goodfellas, All the 007 movies, Ocean's Eleven, Zoolander, Cinema Paradiso, Life is Beautiful, Kal Ho Na Ho, Salaam Namaste.

My new favorite band is Falu (www.falumusic.com). I'm also into hip hop, arabic music, white people music (basically anyone from the garden state soundtrack), and also, country music. yup, that's right. country. and hip hop. its possible, trust me.

I am constantly in a battle between childhood and adulthood. For example, I will stay up all night to to alternate watching chip n dale's rescue rangers and a documentry on the American Presidency at 4:30 am.

I listen to country music. a lot. in my car. with the windows up, but when i stop at a traffic light, i pretend i am boppin my head to hip hop so that the people outside don't think i am listening to country music. i thought i was enormously clever until one time when i had the opportunity to stand outside my car with the music on and realized its actually quite easy to hear from the outside. oops.

i overuse the word awesome. there are few situations that cannot be described by the words awesome or not awesome. for example...
people that are awesome: optimus prime, sachin tendulkar, amitabh, manmohan singh, mets fans,
people that are not awesome: people who overuse the word diaspora and eagles fans.

i also want to learn to play cricket well. so if you know of pickup cricket
matches, that would be awesome.

karen brzozowski was closer to perfection than anyone i will ever know. i miss her.

people who can move quickly from the serious to the silly and women who think a little dorkiness is sexy.
