NewMusicWest 2008 to take place May 14 - 18th in Vancouver, B.C. After a very successful event in 2007, NMW is geared up for 2008 with new sponsors, new technology and a totally new website. NewMusicWest is the largest new music festival on the West Coast of North America, and has been operating since 1990. It joins the business and marketing world together with the music scene. Sponsorships and Media partnerships are still available.
Festival producers, recording studios and ringtone factory 29 Productions Inc. intends to grow the festival as a major destination event for Vancouver and an important piece of the music industry circuit. The vision is to develop an internationally recognized event comparable to other major music and film festivals, with an industry and educational focus alongside the entertainment aspects.

The increasing use of technology in music is a major focus, and NMW encourages the marriage of technology and music. Downloads, mp3 players, satellite radio, cell phone content, ring tones and music creation software continue to change the face of the entertainment industry, and must be incorporated into older business models. The NMW website is becoming a year-round hub for finding great music and discovering technologies.
