is awsome. he is always there to talk
to and is honest about what he says.
he may have a hard time understanding
why people do what they do, but he has
an open mind, and at least tries to
understand. he sometimes thinks he has
more control in peoples lives, but i
let him think that just to keep him
quiet. he is also a gramar nazi.....:)
share my experience visiting Jay at
his family's house. I showed up at
the door and asked if Bartow was
home. And somehow, in a house full of
Bartows, they knew who I was looking
for.
Distance and time are the worst
enemies of a friendship. Jay has
always been a constant friend, if not
a constantly present friend. He's
talked me out of more than a few
generally disappointing moods, and
even a few bouts of critical sadness.
And he took me to a Yankees' playoff
game once. What more can you ask for
from a friend?
complaining about how many times Jay has
done things that have pissed me off, and
how many times Jay and I have fought and
argued. But then, I could also fill this
entire space with times that Jay has
been pretty much my best friend. Then I
figuredI could just make a mad list or
personal jokes, but that would piss
everyone else off. Of course, Jay loves
memory lane more than anyone else I
know. Then I realized that no one calls
him Jason, and this is inherently
misleading. And then I realized that
that I've known him for too long, and I
might as well just.... stop.
say a lot of things, but most of them are
unrepeatable...Oh, what do *I* say about
Jason? I say that he's someone I'm very glad
to know, despite (or perhaps because of?) how
much he has vexed me for one reason or
another over the seven yaers I've known him.
I've learned an awful lot about myself from
him, but I would never ever tell him that. Er.
Hm. Well, anyway, anybody who can recite the
entire screenplay of "Peter Graves at the
University of Minnesota" has earned my
respect, for whatever that's worth. G'zuzzah,
Jay!
nVo...er, nVe. Just don't call him
Poochie.
