After a long period of dividing my time among New York, Los Angeles, the U.K., and various randoms (Jacksonville, anyone?) as the work and inclination saw fit, I appear to finally be settled for a spell. Dig kindness, integrity, unmanipulated honesty and am a sucker for the people who embody them. (Also have grammar fetish and perhaps unhealthy attachment to semi-colons.)
Who I Want to Meet:
Old friends. The emotionally courageous. People who can hit the ball back. Walkers of their talk. Possessors of a smart, spectacularly random sense of humor.
As an actor, writer, and friend, Marisa has a truly astounding amount of creativity and emotional courage. Oh, and she's brilliant. And talented. And hot. I think she is going to be a U.S. Senator some day, though she may not have figured that out yet herself. One step at a time.
Hooray! Marisa's on Friendster! Everyone rejoice!
Marisa is one of the most together chicks I know. I used to look at where my life was headed and went "aaaggghhhh!", now I see Marisa and I'm actually looking forward to full-blown adulthood.
She makes it look cool.
If you are nice to her, Marisa will take you to see loads of movies for free. Or she will administer one of her miracle herbal remedies. Or she will wax lyrical on the subject of page 261 of The English Patient. If you are not nice to her, Marisa will make you write 3 pages of stream-of-consciousness prose every morning. I sometimes think that Marisa should have been a character in an early-19th-Century English novel where people go for a turn in the rose garden after the
taking of tea and cake. Sadly this
was never to be, but, not one to bemoan
her lot, Marisa is coping with the 20th
Century very well indeed. She is a great listener - selfless, unjudgmental
and acutely perceptive. She is an
awesome performer and one of the most
brilliant actresses I've worked with. My personal ambition is to get in a car
with Marisa and drive until we run out of roads, or until the last track on Let It Be (whichever is first).
