What I enjoy doing:
Being nice and wonderful for the peoples of Philadelphia, changing seasons, walking dogs, playing frisbee, reading the paper, eating lunch, courting bike couriers, sitting in benches, walking in circles, playing in the fountain(kids=yes - dogs=no)
-
Favorite Music:
Birds chirping, Curtis students playing, that hippie flute guy, cell phone chatter

About Me:
I have been around since the 1700's. Never once did they bury people in
me like they did my other 3 brothers ... Washington Sq. is just plain
scary. I was designed by Paul Philippe Cret in 1913 the way you see me
now. I provide all Philadelphians with a place of respite for the weary,
intrigued, and lazy. I am happy to host all sorts of events, people and
acts. You can get ANYTHING to eat around me. I make a great place for
lunch. I even can tell the time. You want a place to take the kids?...
I am it. You want a place to play frisbee?.. yuppers. You want to get a
tan in the summer?.. I am aces. You need a place to waste the rest of
your day?... Right here. You want to meet up with a secret lover?... I
won't tell. I am the park. Your park.
-
Who I Want to Meet:
I want to meet every Philadelphian I can. Especially if you are wealthy and rude, or ride a fixed gear.

I wonder what the lynx would make of
rittenhouse square;
those white bellys and low cut whats.
Baby fat women, fat babies,
broken stumbling whiskey cheeked men: me
hot dog smells, rigatoni in the trash
places to hide
hidden slumbering hidding men
screams of pleasure
screams.
I wonder what I miss in these woods.
them have posted a testimonial for you all
year. i feel as though no one really
appreciates you... or at least says so out
loud. but i do. and i will say it out loud.
because the square is the center of it all.
the city, my life... it should really have its
own movie. think of all the love lost and
found, friendships made and ended, dogs
meet and part, everything grows and
changes... its beautiful, really. i don't
watch movies, but that is a movie i would
watch. heck, maybe its a movie i'll make.
know anyone who could make a good
soundtrack to go with? take care, blossom
well, and thanks for being my home.
