dear work out buddy...I miss you. I
miss playing soccer with you. I miss
eating Penguin gelato with you. I miss
watching mindless TV with you. I still
have your old shinguards that you gave
me. They're in the trunk of my car,
and secretly, I take them out every
once in a while just to sniff them.
CIAO BELLA!
good. she's also a very good friend
who flew all the way from italy to my
latest digs in ireland to help me
celebrate my birthday. she is also one
of the world's finest ambidextarous
drivers. i just made that phrase up,
and i'm sure i spelled it wrong.
that's why she's the writer and i'm not.
hours on a bus. Even when I was
sleeping she was in my dreams...
at Northwestern, but never really knew
her, until Susie swept her into our
circle of friends and thus the crazy
chicas of 918 Simpson were born. Some
insane days and hot, hot nights were
spent in that shack of a house --
including poems about stupid men,
endless bottles of wine and boxes of
kashi, the champagne and strawberries
soiree, and nights of drunken dancing /
boggle / rock painting. Cap that off
with a whirwind tour of Europe
("entiendo this, mother f**ker!!") and
you've got the g/linds relationship in
a nutshell. Plus, I was so lucky to
have had with yet another trip to Italy
with this girl as of late... I am so
blessed. It's always better to do
the "paesa de merde" with a close
friend (especially when George
Clooney's up the street, and mom and
dad are footin' the bill!!) Love you, G!
their sleep? Well, observe little G in
nap mode and you will see her ever
prevailing grin. I swear it never goes
away. Giordi is happiness wrapped in a
jewish italian package... kinda like
matzo rigatoni. Oh- and the girl is way
HOT!
write about hair? Absolutely. Can she
write about Destiny's Child? So well
that Giordi will make you believe that
Beyonce et al actually are destiny's
children. Can she write about travel?
Like Bryson. Hard news? Giordi could
make the all-star team on the pre-
J.Blair NYT. And can she blog? She's
our 'Dear Raed' in Verona, our zulkey a
Italia.
She's also got a good heart, which will
take you a long way in this world.
