mine. She was super quick with a
dobber and could work up to four, five
cards at a time. In the peak moments
of the competition-- adrenaline pumping
through your veins-- when you just
needed to fill in one more box to
achieve Bingo, I could feel the
intensity and concentration pouring out
of Sarah's every muscle like ultra-
violet rays from a sun. I would begin
to perspire, unable to take the heat,
and then, just when you thought you
had, when you thought that she had it,
someone else would call Bingo-- maybe
someone in the dugout, another faceless
winner to despise on the way home, and
we'd all have to collect ourselves anew
for the next round. But then again,
sometimes Sarah won. But win or lose at
Bingo, I always admired her readiness
to get in the game and kick the
competition's ass.
