Amidst the chaos of this corporate jungle, every individual is searching for some kind of release - An unflinching desire to fill the artistic void. This same longing has been the driving force behind Quiverpool’s stronghold on creative music making.


We make no excuses. As long as we love what we're doing, we will continue reeling through the riffs & lounging through the leads. It is common for people to label bands with a specific genre, probably to solidify their place on the music map. We say that's confinement. Bottling up music to conform to some imaginary standards. Standards that serve as barriers separating the hip from the hop, the acid from the jazz, the rock from the roll. To some, that may be lack of identity. To us, that is music for music's sake.

We may not please everybody, but we are not here to please. We don't make music to make you feel good. We make music that makes us feel good, and in turn, share this feeling that transcends. Quiverpool’s is here to stay. As vibrations create rhythm and words create rhymes, we will play what we want and feel good about it. Because we believe this is how music is supposed to be played: Uncompromising.

HISTORY:

The band started as an acoustic group circa 2004 with Benjie Remorin on main vocals and guitar, Armstrong Mejilla on cajon/vocals, Jhen Bungay on djembe/vocals, and Jeffrey Giron on backup vocals and guitars. Quiverpool aims to grow with a mission, channeling their inner artists towards a common goal. Music.

Quiverpool, aka Quiver or QP, performed in some of Singapore ’s art and music venues namely Blue Bar, Café Cosmo etc and was an opportunity to release. A successful self-organized event was held December 2004 in Liberte bar at Chijmes and was attended by almost a 100 people. The band was one of the first groups to perform in Esplanades Singapore Arts Café and was a featured artist in Esplanade GOT (Gathering of Talents). Armstong and Jhen were caught up with the churn of the system and went for a brief hiatus and Bernie Ronquillo took challenge to man the cajon. Anthony Kan’s Heartrock, a Singapore event organizer, took noticed of the bands efforts and potential invited the group to record with other Singaporean talents like Syltra Lee, Fat Skunks etc. Popagenda’s Rock D’ Fort 1995 was the biggest event in which Quiverpool was billed with Singapore based Filipino bands MrBrosnan?, Mesh Potatoes, Launchbox! and with the best acts across Asia including Philippines very own Bamboo.

Quiverpool regrouped with electric roar, with Benjie and Jeffrey heading a new lineup including Arleingh ‘Bogs’ Ambrosio of the 80's Identity Crisis fame came in to handle the bottoms, Vinkie ‘ Vinx’ Francisco on keys and John ‘Zildjohn’ Sangalang on drums. The group performed at Banda Fantastika 1 an offshoot gig of a series of albums releases of great Filipino bands based here in Singapore . Quiverpool was also part of the very successful RocknShoot, a collaboration event between PhilmusicSG and Pinoyscers (headed by our own John)

Quiver welcomed Sherwin Sanchez on the helm of the back beats and rhythm. We recorded the electric version of “Work Horse” at Playground Studios in Singapore . ‘Work Horse’ is blues tinged song about the grit of relationships amidst hard knocked work life. As we lay our first bearings in our musical paths playing the blues is a challenging standard we feel we opt to pay homage to.

As the namesake says Quiver is the creative vibration and Pool is the collective talents within.
