four days, before she left me for Bert
and Ernie. Now we've resorted to
hanging out on rooftops, peering in on
people through their skylights. I kind
of felt bad about it until I realized
this gave people a chance to peer up at
Kate. And who wouldn't want that?
She's the real one to watch.
tomboy, part debutante (spelling?),
part ny socialite, part unibomber, part
outdoors chic, part band nerd, part
supermodel, and ALL ass-hound...that's
all she thinks about...one track mind
watch her boys, to quote the unquotable
Hall and Oates, "She's a maneater..."
way. She is upwardly mobile. Dangerous!
A woman on the move. Ambition
personified. A hot, heaving volcano,
anthropomorphicized. I have seen her
twist a cherry stem into a noose with
her tongue: suck a key lime through a
crazy straw: wash down Jameson with
Maker's Mark: step off a
trans-continental red-eye from Bangkok
smelling like the wild lavender that
floats on a summer breeze in a fabric
softener commercial. She looks really
cute with curls. I get sad when I watch
Annie hall because it makes me miss her.
superhero and i'm not even kidding.
I've seen her bust through all sorts of
parade lines to rescue isolated
powerpuff girls from simian attackers,
and all with a smile and a wave. I can
name over 100 men who envy Owen Wilson
for getting the honor of appearing in
her profile.
