Clare was drawn to Jesus Christ passionately: to his poverty, to his Gospel, to his Passion, to the adorable Sacrament of his Body and Blood. The Holy Spirit had already ignited a spark in her soul when, hearing Saint Francis preach, it was fanned into a great flame. The flame burned brightly in the dark little church of the Porziuncula on the night Francis clothed her in a rough tunic, girded her with a rope, cut off her hair and covered her head with a veil, the ancient sign of the sponsa Christi, the virgin consecrated to Christ.

On the mountain where You transfigured, 0 Christ God, and Your disciples beheld Your glory as far as they could see it; so that when they would behold You crucified, they would understand that Your suffering was voluntary, and would proclaim to the world that You are truly the Radiance of the Father!
This event clearly gives to us the promise of eternal life.

may we be encourage to READ the life of Christ and the Lives of Saints "AD MAJOREM DEI GLORIAM"
Good Savior, Saint Ignatius was wounded in battle and had to spend months in recovery. He wanted to pass the time reading adventure books about knights, but all he could find were biographies on the saints. Reading these, he felt challenged to do what the saints had done. I ask him to pray for people to make good choices in reading material. Take away from me and my loved ones, O Lord, any interest in books and magazines that do not contribute to our relationship with You, and do the same with all forms of entertainment. Increase in us a desire to learn from the biographies of saints
