we rarely touch TV.

You may have already heard them. They are Mage.

It all started when Moon was looking forward to form a band which consists of j-rock influenced members. It was first formed in Jan 17th 2004, consisted of 3 guys and a girl drummer. Slowly evolving, Mage is still actively pursuing and is presently form by 4 male members. They are:

The roots
Mage originally started as a hobby activity playing some original composed songs and japanese rock music in college shows, prom nights, and some gigs. It then somehow gathered a number of audience along the way with their passion and captivating live performance. Moon decided to organize a series of on-going gig shows dedicated to Mage’s music roots, thus borne “J-rock Kingdom”.

J-rock Kingdom
J-rock Kingdom is mainly a music event playing j-rock cover and band’s originals. It was organized every year by Mage and its members. The event grown bigger and bigger due to large community of j-rock listeners and the rise of j-rock influenced band joining the gig. First and second J-rock Kingdom held at Paul’s place, the third was held at Helo café, South city plaza, they all achieved FULL HOUSE audiences. More info on J-rock Kingdom at www.jrock-kingdom.com.

The Mage’s style
Mage’s music genre range from soft ballad to emo-punk, carefully presented in a dark-visual image and depressing manner, sarcasmly mixing some delighted bright colors in contrast. The band aim to present their works in a black, mysterious way, yet brings the magical feel of surprise and delightment for the listener, hence the name: Mage. Mage define itself by its emotionally-catchy song composition and music instrument arranging. Their music is in both English and Chinese.
