My birth name Brandon James Routh My nickname B.J My height 6' 3" (1.91 m) My Last Name Routh is pronounced like "south", I was born in Des Moines, Iowa and I grew up in nearby Norwalk. I attended the University of Iowa and starred in many productions at the Norwalk Theater of Performing Arts. My first professional acting role was in the ABC television series "Odd Man Out" (1999), and I went on to guest star in the series "Gilmore Girls" (2000) and "Undressed" (1999). In my spare time, I enjoy playing soccer and basketball, swimming, biking and reading. I can play the trumpet and piano. I went as Clark Kent/Superman for a Halloween party in 2003 and won a costume contest, only to receive the movie role one year later. I dressed up as Batman for Halloween 2004. My brother is a "real-life Superman" - a police officer in Des Moines I attended the University of Iowa After being cast as Superman for Superman Returns (2006) I sought out a movement coach to help him create the proper body language for the Superman character. My Parents are Ron and Katie. Unlike fellow Superman actors Christopher Reeve and Tom Welling, I'm a huge Superman fan. As a kid, I collected the comics, owned the films, and even wore Superman pajamas. I Frequently say that the only good thing that came of my several years of struggling to find success in Hollywood was meeting my long-time girlfriend in a coffee-shop after another failed audition. I attended the International Model and Talent Association (IMTA). I think thats all i can say about me!
