Mark is a dear dear friend. Mark is the
grasshopper and I am the ant. We balance
each other well. Instead of letting me sit at
home watching Dick Van Dyke on PAX tv,
he'd drag me to Akbar in Los Feliz. One
holiday, we drove all over LA in search of
the perfect lights for the tree while a turkey
was in the oven at home. And while I stayed
in on a Tuesday night, Mark would call me at
4am after puking in West Hollywood and
losing his shoes to ask me to walk Milo,
which I would obligingly do. Mark would
come up with crazy ideas like ordering
groceries off the internet, and I'd cluck my
tongue, and say, Noooo we don't have the
money for that. Yes, we were a great pair. I
miss Mark very much. But hopefully I'll be in
NY in a couple years, too!
mark once let me live with him and his
dog for way too long in his shoebox in
the hollywood hills and then i let him
live with me for way too long in new
york and i tell you we came THIS close
to killing each other 3 or 4 times but
then always just in the nick of time
we'd reconcile by cooking up some kind
of mad curry and drinking some crazy
drinks he'd mix up and then our love
would start freeflowing again. o mark
o mark how i love thee. (it should
also be noted that i gave him that
haircut in the picture)
