I don't know Natalye but I think that I've seen
her before and I like some of the people she
likes so I believe we would probably get along
and exchange witty anecdotes about various
things for many hours at a time. Then again, I
might be totally wrong.
Apparently, Natalye thinks I run some sort of
courier service for mix tapes. She obviously
doesn't understand that I am a busy man
with a full calendar. It's not that these tapes
don't get delivered, it's just that they don't get
there FAST enough for this girl. I mean what
the fuck? Maybe I have stuff to do. Maybe I
have to drive to Sacramento and back to
pick up my cell phone and maybe I listened
to her tape on the way up there. What's
wrong with that? Just cuz it wasn't made for
me doesn't mean I can't listen to it, right? My
parents car don't have a CD player, so
what? And ok, yes, maybe Michael did stay
over at my house after a particularly drunken
night at the Forestville Club last week, and
yes, he was sleeping five feet from Natalye's
tape that I was supposed to deliver to him.
And then I didn't and we went to coffee and I
still have the tape. You know, I've got a lot of
things on my mind. I'm a very important
person. I can't think of every little thing. I
mean, Jeez. Just cuz I've seen Michael twice
since then - again just feet from the mix tape
that sits on my piano - doesn't mean he'll
never get the tape. I am borrowing it. You
know, where the hell is MY mix tape? Huh?
Why don't you look in the yellow pages
under "Courier Service" next time if you want
it there in five minutes. I have these friends
who may be able to help. Their name is "The
United States Postal Service". For a
fractional amount of a dollar, they can
deliver a mix tape from Santa Rosa to Santa
Rosa in less than two days. And they're not
in two bands and work at Kinko's like your
current Courier Service. Dude. For reals.
