I've learned that you cannot make someone love you.
All you can do is be someone who can be loved.
The rest is up to them.
I've learned that it takes years to build up trust,
and only seconds to destroy it.
I've learned that it's not what you have in your life
but who you have in your life that counts.
I've learned that it's not what happens to people that's important.
It's what we do about it.
I've learned that you can do something in an instant
that will give you heartache for life.
I've learned that we are responsible for what we do,
no matter how we feel.
I've learned that either you control your attitude
or it controls you.
I've learned that you should always leave loved ones
with loving words. It may be the last time you see them.
I've learned that money is a lousy way of keeping score.
I've learned that sometimes when I'm angry
I have the right to be angry,
but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.
I've learned that true friendship continues to grow,
even over the longest distance. Same goes for true love.
I've learned that just because someone
doesn't love you the way you want them to,
doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.
I've learned that no matter how good a friend is,
they're going to hurt you every once in a while
and you must forgive them for that.
I've learned that just because two people argue,
it doesn't mean they don't love each other.
And just because they don't argue, it doesn't mean they do.
I've learned that we don't have to change friends
if we understand that friends change.
I've learned that you shouldn't be so eager to
find out a secret. It could change your life forever.
I've learned that two people can look at the exact
same thing and see something totally different.
I've learned that credentials on the wall
do not make you a decent human being.
I've learned that being kind
is more important than being right.
I've learned that making a "living"
is not the same thing as making a "life."
I've learned that the best classroom in the world
is at the feet of an elderly person.
I've learned that having a child fall asleep in your arms
is one of the most peaceful feelings in the world.
I've learned that I can always pray for someone
when I don't have the strength to help him in some other way.
I've learned that we should be glad God doesn't
give us everything we ask for.
I've learned that it's those small daily
happenings that make life so spectacular.
I've learned that under everyone's hard shell
is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved.
I've learned that when you plan to get even with someone,
you are only letting that person continue to hurt you.
I've learned that one should keep his words both soft and tender,
because tomorrow he may have to eat them.
I've learned that it is best to give advice in only two circumstances;
when it is requested & when it is a life threatening situation.
I've learned that love, not time, heals all wounds.
I've learned that life is tough, but I'm tougher.
I've learned that the Lord didn't do it all in one day.
What makes me think I can.
Nothing that is worth doing can be accomplished in our lifetime.
Therefore we will have to be saved by Hope.
Nothing that is beautiful will make sense in the immediate instance.
Therefore we must be saved by Faith.
Nothing that is worth doing can be done alone, but has to be done with others.
Therefore we must be saved by Love . . .

Who I Want to Meet:
Ready or not,
someday it will come to an end.
There will be no more sunrises,
no minutes, hours, or days.
All the things you collected,
whether treasured or forgotten,
will pass to someone else.
Your wealth, fame and temporal
power will shrivel to irrelevance.
Your grudges, resentments,
frustrations and jealousies
will finally disappear.
So too, your hopes, ambitions,
plans and to-do lists will expire.
The wins and looses that
once seemed important
will fade away.
It won’t matter where
you came from,
or on what side of the tracks
you lived at the end.
It won’t matter whether you were
beautiful, handsome or brilliant.
Even your gender and skin color
will become irrelevant.
So what will matter..?
How will the value of your days
be measured?
What will matter is not what you bought,
but what you built.
Not what you got,
but what you gave.
What will matter is not your success,
but your significance.
What will matter is not what you learned,
but what you taught.
What will matter is every act of integrity,
compassion, courage or sacrifices
that enriched, empowered or encouraged
others to emulate your example.
What will matter is not your competence,
but your character.
What will matter is not
how many people you knew,
but how many would feel
a lasting loss when you are gone.
What will matter is how long
you will be remembered
by whom and for what.
Living a life that matters
does not happen by accident.
It is not a matter of circumstances
but one of choice...
My Friend, i choose to live a life that matters.
Time is too slow for those who wait... Too swift for those who fear...
Too long for those who grieve... Too short for those who rejoice...
But for those who love, time is eternity..!
