Early History
The band was formed on December 16,2008 as his previous band o joined his cousins group for the upcoming battle of the band to be held at Carahay LLC (Ajel-Vocals, Roy13th-Guitars,Judene-Bass & Rd-Drums). But due to bad weather conditions,the even was postponed and cancelled afterwards. And so,Roy13th decided to stick with the group and began playing post grunge cover songs and that's the time name them as "Distorted Microphones". And later on Jan.2008, as a band, the group began working their own music with Focuses on the lyrics and Roy13th on guitar riffs and arrangement with Ajel on the little help on the verse. They titled it "Chemical Love" a song with explcit message. at that time, they noticed the outcome of their music what to fit them so, they cover "My own summer by Deftones(Nu Metal)" and made them as their influence and inspiration to the band. Roch Edwards(Devoured Hindrance) of Black Label Productions is the group's first production gig after winning the 2nd place battle of the band held at 626 tapsilog Sangi LLC. Crowd cheers and witness the group as they performed jam on the stage and slowly made them popular a little that time. As 2nd placer, they receive a cash as an incentive and spend it drinking beers till dawn as their celebration for winning. On May 10,2008, the group had their first show performing live at the Boss grill Mango avenue Cebu City under Black label productions with the guest musician Junjie Punongbayan who performed guitar solos on "Pain is my power" and Cradle of Filth's "Hallowed be thy name". That's the time the group recognized the people of Bite magazine and post them on the front page cover as main sponsor to Black label productions. Months goes by, Roy13th decided to change the group's name into "Oath of the Black Soul" due to his pain and hatred with his previous past that occurs his life in miserable experience and members agreed with Roy13th's suggestion. Group's 2nd gig is August 15,2008 "Attribute to the opanganon bands who strives to survive in the music scene" under Iamskarlet productions held at 626 tapsilog. Ming(Vicryl 2.0) impresses the group very well how they performed live on stage as well as the other bands who performed there. Group's 3rd show was Nuvo Lahug Cebu City on October 15,2008 "Till death do us Part" under Iamskarlet productions. The event there is Henna painting and permanent tatoo competition a gathering in Cebu's greatest artist. The event there is successful and the group jam with Cebu's Reggae-Rock artist "The Powerspoons". After the group performed their music afterwards(Chemical Love, Bleeding Truth, One Blood One Soul), Jasper vocalist of "Hard Lickers(deceased)" performed guest vocals on their cover song "My own summer by Deftones" high pitch growls spread over the night as they screamed their hatred through metal music. 4th show of the group is "The grunge night" on October 31,2008 under Black label productions an attribute to our very own father of Grunge music "Kurt Cobain(Nirvana). They covers songs from Kurt like "Smells like teen spirit and Rape Me" as an attribute to the event. Only very people who jam among with them due to All Souls Day past approaching. The success of the independent band seems to be memorable year after year as they celebrated their first anniversary during the day of Christmas...


Oath of the Black Soul is the band who are dedicated to metal music scene industry and extremely give their best just to make the people shout and jam on stage even though they're not the best among than any others. Even if there are conflict with their families, time, and not all people
can adopt their music, still they ought to live and survive just for the love of music and not for the money. Some people says these freaks are waisting time and money but this is who they are independent band with pure heart through the shadows they hide from sorrows that blinds their eye...

More About RD: At his early stage, he joined DLBC in his school as snare drummer and resigned afterwards due to his historical health which is "Asthma". To continue his career as a drummer, he joined a garage band and quitted sooner due to unclick performance with his band members until he was recruited as a drummer with his current band at the age of 16
