      • She's in the business of helping people.
She has a love of all things peanut butter.
She has a memory like one of those huge, industrial strength sponges.
The kind they use to clean up school cafeterias.
Never be ashamed of who you are; embrace Ace of Base.

      • oh, avivele -
i will always be your Rusty,
and we will always talk about
how we used to eat too much,
too late in college. i don't think
i ever thanked you adequately for
hooking me up with the bomb
living situation with you and the
        other arian southerners... i loved
it. and that whole tryst with the
man of color across the street
        helped, too.

lovin ya from the west coast!

      • A damn cool chick for chatting up a storm. Even if you have only seen eachother face to face for 5 minutes in a span of 10 years.

traded places. It took us 48 hours to
realize it. Mine came back to me a bit
more wise. I would trust her with my
soul any old time. This woman is
golden-- a friend to be cherished whose
contagious laugh is one of those little
things in life that makes it all feel okay.

      • oh, aviv-ela...
it all started back in '96,
did you really know i was gay before
        complimenting me on my all-american
        good looks?
        you are so great-
i loved it when you were stringing
along the british man in the pub in
paris - and that you were very shortly
thereafter the token (closeted) jew at
the wedding of my french countryside
        friends.
bluntly, i love you. you are a clever
NY jew who slummed with blonde
        southerners all through college and
now all i have left to cherish are our
        yearly chance encounters over vin
        rouge and the memories...
when did you say you are you moving to
        california?

      • Man, I remember this one time back
in 'Nam, me and the Veevster were
coming up on this little village...Wait
        a minute, that wasn't Aviva...Don't let
the smartness fool you--Veevs is wicked
funny, wicked fun, and wicked cool. And
for all of you who don't know, two
words: hair metal. Think about it.

      • After spending the better part of my
waking hours with Aviva for the past 4
months, I know this much is true....
One can survive on Subway and Tasti-D-
Lite alone. Be nice in high school
because you never know when it's gonna
come back to kick you in the ass.
        Breathe. Smile. Tough Love. Paul.

      • Aviva, AKA Awesome....well, lets
see...she be funny, bright as a
star, brilliant, knows how to dance in
the kitchen to JULUKA, poetic, sassy,
good times, and adorable. Now, she IS
my sister...BUT, I am able to be
objective because I'm older and I KNOW
that AVIVA (palindrome) is "where it's
at" as they say...I love her. I trust
her. I admire her....and you will too.

      • my friendship with aviva (aka shma)
began many moons ago in a 10am
english lit class. our professor, the
        famed tracy scott mcmillan, was
crazy enough to let us be peer
        editors...which basically meant we
        got to spend countless hours
        together drinking coffee, eating mish
        mosh bagels and gossiping about
the latest co-op parties. during some
of that time, we also managed to
read each others brilliant essays on
        thoreauvian nature, scarlet
        semaphores and whales as texts.
        those were good times. then,
        somewhere along the way, we
moved from the cornfields of ohio to
the urban strata that is nyc, tho i don't
remember when and how that all
        happened.

these days shma is good for just
about anything, whether it be a
romantic walk thru a snow storm at
        2am, an intense conversation about
        postmodernism in a deconstructed
society, or supervising me vomit on
myself in the middle of the night in
my sleep. she is as dependable as
        taurus girls come. oh...and she's
        beautiful too. shma...you ARE my
        BFF.

      • You think you had a hard time in
        history class? Please. Don't even
front. Aviva and I have a history too
jam-packed for a busted text book. We
        have dancing, flirtation, road trips,
        dirty jeans (and/or chanuka gifts),
        late-night international phone calls,
        screaming, laughing, lots of brunching
and, well, let's just say we've had our
fill of drama. But I just can't seem to
tear myself away from this gorgeous
creature of vegetarianism and jazz. You
want to know why? Better start
        studying...
